I've been coming here for the last 9 years and I highly recommend the staff and service our top notch. I'm 30 now but since I was 12 I remember coming in to see the beautiful artwork and the magnificent gems and minerals and i cant forget the awesome museum layout they have to offer. I take my watches and all my jewelry here for just about anything you can think of and I always leave having more done then expected everytime, you can really tell they value your business and the craftsmanship is top of the line. weather your looking for a gift, a repair, or to browse a one of a kind collection of gems go no further then Gaumer's I always leave with a smile and my kids love adding to there collection of gems, geodes, and crystals.

The Mineral Museum is SPECTACULAR, be sure to go behind the curtain and wonder at all the rocks that phosphorescence (glow-in-the-dark, see pic) . . . Highly Recommended!

When my dad was a kid he grew up in Red Bluff and played around at the Gaumer's gem shop. He learned a lot there from the family and he brought us up there when we went out to visit his side of our family. The ownere there were very nice and remembered him and were able to catch up. Their rock museum has many awesome educational examples of precious stones and ancient artifacts! They have several examples of Native American arrowheads, petrified wood, many mortars and pestles, as well as a display of old gold-mining equipment. They have a special dark room set up where you can shine different wavelength UV light onto reactive stones and see them glow, as well as a beautiful backlight display of slab agates and other kinds of stones that kids can look into detail in. We came with our younger cousin who seemed to really enjoy looking at all the stones. They also have many examples of precious stones sculptures from many different artistic traditions, cultures, and methods. Definitely a place to visit if you're going through to the mountains to learn about the terrain around Lassen, Shasta, or Tehama county in general.

Just excellent. Staff is communicative, patient, and caring. They put real effort & time into making sure your needs/wants are met, I never feel rushed here even when I’ve been indecisive. Always a fantastic experience with staff, and you literally could spend hours browsing here. My fiancée and I had them make my sterling silver engagement band, custom to my specifications. It is exactly what I wanted! We are also having their engagement ring made here, and despite my partner being a little indecisive and picky about a very specific design, the process has been so smooth and efficient. We get to go see it in-progress tomorrow. 1 gazillion stars.

Huge store with a ton of museum quality displays. They’ve got a great selection of both rough and polished pieces. I could have spent hours (and several hundred dollars) here. Friendly and helpful staff. Can’t wait to come back!

You definitely want to give yourself enough time to look through the museum and the store because it's filled with so many amazing rocks and fossils. The dark room in the museum section is so cool. My parents have purchased quite a few pieces of jewelry from Gaumers, and it's all beautiful. Seeing the store in person was really a treat. The jewelry is beautiful and reasonably priced. The women who worked there were friendly and attentive as well. I will be making it a point to stop in every time I'm in Northern CA. Updated October 2023*- Gaumer's is still just as lovely and has added a new room within the museum area, which is a must-see.

Gaumer’s is truly a gem in Red Bluff! We love picking out raw geodes and having them cut open for a small fee, it is so much fun to see what is inside. A highlight of our trips to Northern California and the perfect souvenir. Perfect stop on your way to Mt. Lassen.

Love Rocks? Appreciate knowledgeable people? Fair prices for sure. I like to compare prices from others online, these guys are great! MUSEUM is amazing, I love everything is labeled and locations found. They have everything. Multi generation family buisness, love supporting family businesses. Im so so happy we came here. Only stayed an hour, didnt get to see everything. Also nice clear stands for cheap, best price I've found so far and solid, not cheap made.
